Finding a property for rent can be a pain. With so many people looking for rental properties it can often feel like the properties you’re looking at can disappear before you’ve even had time to consider them!

When you’re looking for a new property to rent, there are a few things that you should keep in mind so that you know you’re on the right track.

How long are you looking to rent? As a minimum, tenancies last for 6 months but often have the option to extend subject to the Landlord. How long you are wanting to stay in a property may have an impact on the properties available.

Have you fully considered your budget? In addition to the monthly rent of the property don’t forget to take into account council tax, bills and other monthly out goings. An Initial deposit/bond will also apply so don’t forget to budget for these too.

Do you have all of the necessary paperwork? Before you can move in, you’ll need to have proof of your identity and your right to rent in the UK. Our referencing team will ask for these so be sure you have them ready to go.

Think about your current circumstances. Do you have children or pets? Are you a smoker? Check with the landlord or managing agent of the property about what is and isn’t allowed as this can cause complications later down the line.

If you have any questions about our tenancy processes or have seen a property that you’re interested in make sure you get in touch. Properties are going quickly so don’t hesitate.
